Sparkle is a beautiful (almost) 11-year-old longhaired shaded cream Dachshund who is ready to find her loving forever home. She is spayed, very healthy, heartworm negative, and her recent bloodwork came back normal. Sparkle has no teeth, but that certainly doesn’t slow her down!
This sweet girl is friendly, affectionate, and incredibly loyal. She loves being close to her person and will happily follow you from room to room. One of her favorite places is snuggled beside you on the sofa, and she also sleeps nicely in a crate.
Sparkle will potty outside and is also comfortable using pee pads indoors. She currently weighs 17 pounds and gets along wonderfully with two other female Dachshunds in her foster home. Sparkle previously lived with 8 other dachshunds, males and females, so we know that she does well with dogs her own size. Her experience with cats is unknown.
Sparkle isn't comfortable walking on a leash, but she hasn't really needed one in her foster home. She happily follows her foster family around the yard and doesn't run off, preferring to stay close to her people.
Because Sparkle would likely be happiest in a more peaceful environment, she would do best in a quieter home without small children.
