Honey is a blond, 1.5 yr old, 16#, spayed female, Chiweenie. Her personality is summed up by saying she's a hoot! There will never be a dull moment when this girl is around. Her theme song should be Cindy Lauper's, ‘Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun!’ She has her nose into everything! "What'cha doing? Huh, huh ... what'cha doing?", she is always saying, while her tail is wagging the whole time with her nose investigating and ears flopping. And speaking of floppy ears, I'm not sure we've ever met a dog with ears as expressive as hers! Everything about Honey is unique!

At 1.5 years, Honey is all puppy and along with that comes all of the puppy behaviors and challenges. Her new caregivers will need to spend time and effort in training Honey, teaching her manners and basic training. Believe it or not, she is house trained at her foster home and she walks great on a leash. Honey is not a sedentary girl although she will calm down when it's nap time or TV time, and she sleeps well at night. She should do great on walks, hikes, social events, etc. She’s a rough and tumble girl who can keep up with the best of them.

Honey is very social! She gets along great with children, adults (male/female), dogs and cats. She does need training on the proper ways to meet dogs and cats and her foster home is working on that. Her new caregiver(s) will need to continue this training. Honey has a tendency to think everything and everyone is there for her entertainment and pleasure (typical puppy behavior). She will need to learn that there is a 'gentle' command.

Honey will do great in lots of lifestyles, but we don't think she will do well in a home where she is left alone for 8-10 hours a day while the caregiver(s) work outside the home. Honey was surrendered from a household where everyone had busy schedules which started her down the road to separation anxiety. Her new caregiver(s) will need to work on this issue. We believe that once love, exercise, trust, routine and security are introduced into her new life that she will be fine.

Honey would be a great dog for a family with (respectful) children! She'd be a great emotional support dog! She'd be great for an active couple who loves to hike and camp out...as long as she can come along! She'd be great as a companion for another dog(s). She'll be a great dog for almost every lifestyle ... except a sedentary one or one where her caregivers are away from home for too long.
