Barney found himself in search of a new forever home when his prior owner passed away. Barney had been well loved, but lacked some basic medical needs before coming into rescue. Thanks to CCDR, Barney has received the medical care he needed, including a recent dental. Even though he had tartar, the vet said his teeth were in very good condition. Barney also has a cataract in one eye but that doesn't seem to cause him any sight issue, Barney is overall very healthy and happy. He has some areas of hair loss from fleas that he had when he came into rescue, but he's flea-free and his coat and skin are beginning to recover and his hair is slowly filling in again. Barney has some hearing loss, but has no problem hearing the treat jar open! 😀
Barney is a lover boy and has a lot of pep in his step and will follow you everywhere and at times, he can be faster than a speeding bullet. His tail is always wagging. When his little tongue sticks out, he will melt your heart away. Barney does not like storms, so be ready to offer him your lap so he feels safe until a storm passes. Barney is house trained - as long as you take him out regularly. He loves being outside and does well on a leash. Barney gets along very well with the 4 other dogs in his foster home where they all eat, sleep and play very well together. A perfect home for Barney would be one where he gets a lot of love and attention and a home with another canine playmate or two.
