Karen Engeseth and Kay Childs

Karen and Kay are supporters of CCDR who live in Delaware.  Karen is a retired administrator from the University of Delaware and Kay is a retired teacher.  They first became involved with our rescue efforts in working to adopt a pair of dogs through Judy Wade who is now CCDR's Secretary.  CCDR member Nancy Kennedy did their home visit and they were on their way to adopting to wonderful Doxies.

It is amazing to think that there was originally some hesitation to allow them to adopt this pair because they didn't have a fenced yard and the foster mom thought they needed  to have a fenced area.  Karen was very persistent though, and convinced Judy that they would do everything to keep these dogs safe and give them all the love and commitment needed for their well-being.

Since adopting from Judy, Karen and Kay have supported CCDR, not only financially, but emotionally and by volunteering to do home checks and transports.  They have been very concerned with the story of Queenie, the CCDR puppy mill mascot, and have been supportive of her foster mom Andrea as well.

CCDR is fortunate to have such devoted Dachshund lovers take interest in our organization and in our beloved breed.  We thank them and send Doxie Hugs their way.
