Minnie

Happy Endings! No, NEW beginnings! Minnie has been adopted and is now in a wonderful home with people who adore her! We couldn't be happier for Minnie because she was one special dog who touched everyone's heart and went through a lot physically to get better.. Her personality and her zest for life will now be shared with a very special couple who will make sure she wants for nothing. Here are some pictures that were sent by her new family and of course, we at CCDR can't help but swell with tears to see how happy she is and how good she looks!.

Minnie's story:
Hi everyone, my name's Minnie.  I was pulled from a kill-shelter in Virginia where I was left by my original owners. Why did they leave me, you ask? Because I had a tumor the size of a baseball on my side. I was retrieved by a CCDR representative, taken to the vet and found to also have 7 mammary tumors as well. I am told I am the sweetest doxie ever so now I have many vet appointments.  If my tumors are malignant, haven't spread to my lungs or lymph nodes yet, I will be a good candidate for surgery. Right now t's very hard for me to walk around because of one tumor that is the size of a baseball that broke open. My foster mom keeps it wrapped so I leave it alone, as you can see from my picture.

My foster mom tells me I'm the sweetest girl ever and that she's never seen a doxie who wags her tail so much!  I love to go wherever you go, and I absolutely love tummy rubs despite my tumors.  Won't you help me by donating a few dollars towards my surgery? The cancer hasn't spread, but it does need to be removed as soon as funds are available.  After I am well I want to find a family to call my own.  My foster mom also says I'm a whiz at going potty outside and I love EVERYONE!  I've been to a lot of vets and every one wants to keep me!  I get along well with dogs, people, kids...I'm just an all-round nice gal and have tons of love to give.  I'm a trusting and gentle dog who lets my  foster mom do whatever she needs to do from clean my ears (no sweat), clip my nails (fine with me) or wrap my tumors even though painful.

If it wasn't for CCDR I wouldn't be here and being taken care of since no one wanted to adopt from the shelter a dog who needed thousands in medical care. But my bills are very high, and I need to ask for some donations to cover the surgery and after care. Thanks so much for thinking of me.  PS, I snore like a grown man! Haha... I also keep my foster family laughing and I like to think I'm their little "star." Hope to meet you soon! Love, Minnie.
